A recruiter asked me how much I get paid in my current position? Is this inquiry normal?

Fellow enterprise tech sales fish, I’m interested to hear your perspective. I’ve been in a rut lately and seriously considering leaving sales. I think it’s primarily fueled by one thing:
After a 6 mo cycle I closed a large deal (4x the average deal size) prior to receiving delayed 2022 comp plans. The deal counts as a 2022 deal. On last years comp plan it would’ve paid out at 10%. This year it pays out at a measly 4%.

How do you/have you navigated your way through and out of these situations?

What should be the approx in hand?
CTC: 14lpa
Fixed: 12.8lpa, Variable: 1.2lpa
80c: 1.5L
Std Deduction: 50K

Apart from this, also let me know how else I can save tax.
