Writing Samples for Job Applications:
Please share any rules of thumb that you’ve learned over the years about selecting a writing sample, confidentiality, etc.

In my first two jobs, I was very independent. I drafted and reviewed my own work. I felt confident using court filings because they were public record. In my current position, I practice in the Supreme Court of my state. My briefs are edited and reviewed by 3-4 other ppl before we file. Can I still use these as writing samples??

Want your opinion. how much base pay can be expected for a senior associate position in Technology Consulting for someone with ~7 years of experience.

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

So, the CDC removed the Covid guidelines. I’ve never had Covid. I’m afraid people will come into work not wearing a mask and be inconsiderate… ughhh so distracting and disgusting. I’m also at risk to develop complications. Not sure if I should talk to HR. Not even sure if I should ask for accommodations to continue being able to wfh at least most days of the week to reduce risk. Idkkkk 😩This is so unprecedented. I always wear my mask at work.
