I’m working w/ 2 recruiters as well as independently applying for positions on LinkedIn. Recruiter 3 contacts me regarding a listing I submitted myself to (firm then unknown) it’s one that R1+2 hadn’t flagged for me. I suspect R3 doesn’t actually know the market and hasn’t been in the industry long. However, out of respect I usually let the first R who finds a position for me submit me. Here, since I technically submitted myself to them, I am wondering what the right thing to do is.

If you didn’t sign a contract with any of the recruiters, just do whatever you think gets you the job offer you want. Good luck!

If the firm has your resume already the recruiter can't do anything

Basically - I know about the whole “associates screw over recruiters by taking the firm name and then applying themselves” dialogue and I personally make it a point not to do that, but I’ve also worked with enough incompetent recruiters to suspect when this might be a one-and-done type submission, and I’d rather not simultaneously work with too many people in that category either.

If you applied within the last 6-9 months then it’s doesn’t matter the recruiter can’t help you.

I had applied to the recruiter’s listing on LinkedIn; I didn’t apply to the firm directly.

I have been giving a few interviews lately and every Company is asking me to confirm if i can get my NP reduced from 90 Days to 45 or 60 Days. I'm still under probation but assigned to a Project already. Should I ask my Account Manager and HR about it or its unethical to do so. Am i making a mistake to ask and confirm about NP even before my offer letter or its ok to just enquire what's the process and possibility to reduce NP as we have buyout option too.

Layoffs. Most big firms say they're sitting on a conservative pile of cash - which I believe is true - but work will obviously not return to pre-COVID levels in the short term, probably not even in the medium term. Are Biglaw layoffs coming?

Hi new here. Idk what my value is and if I’m getting paid an amount that reflects my hard work. I am a paralegal for a small law firm (family and immigration) w only 1 attorney. I have about 20 files or more in my rotation at a time. I work on various types of cases at once. Some are simple, others are extensive. I feel like it’s very unstructured and one of the managers micromanages. It’s like every man for himself. Take home pay is $50k. I am working on my bachelors deg. Do I get paid enough?
