I have a hefty six-figure student loan and I make $150K a year. I'm currently 23 and feel like I’ll be paying back till the late end of my 30's maybe even 40s. Sometimes I have no motivation to keep my payments going. Don't get me wrong, I pay my debts every month but finding the motivation is hard sometimes. And considering how many more years I have to go, I'm this dog in the meme. What keeps you motivated to tackle your student loans? Do you get any encouragement from friends or fam? Is it just thinking of the road ahead or the progress you see with the payments you're making?

What would you say is the biggest lesson you've learned with regard to student loans? I just got done paying my loans, and my oh my, what a tumultuous journey! Mine is that student loans open doors to education but can become a crushing burden if not managed carefully. Looking back, I wish I'd been more financially literate from the start. I underestimated how interest would compound and how long it would take to pay off my loans, especially when life threw curveballs my way.

How many of you have pushed off buying a car for when you're done paying student loans? I did and for some weird reason, this article makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing :D. Also, in the video that wouldn't stop buffering because of my poor internet connection, he says it's "free helicopter money" that could have negative economic consequences and that universities should be responsible for repaying loans. FINALLY PAID OFF MY LOANS! (65K) I feel so free and relieved. There was nothing more satisfying than making that last payment! Guess now we're on to the next one.... mortgage!! Hahaha. It never ends does it? What did you all focus on when you were done paying off your loans?

So basically, nothing HAPPY about the new year. SAVE is not likely to survive. I hate that I'm already in a really difficult position, and now knowing that I'll be facing all this uncertainty going into the next year is not relieving at all.
