I’m a lawyer… so law school is required for most states. And for my current job it’s required. My partner doesn’t have a degree and he runs into challenges all the time. He is about to finish his AA and then join the military which will help him pay for his BA. Doing the latter should also be considered as well. You get work experience and a free degree
What do you see yourself doing? Start there and then figure out what’s needed. School loans are not ideal and most families are not in a position to pay it all upfront.
I think at this point, most people should be thinking of ways to make college as inexpensive as possible (attend state schools or community college, get scholarships and grants, etc) and try your damndest not to take out student loans. But a lot of white collar jobs still require 4 year degrees, so yeah it just all depends on what your goals are career-wise. If I was 18, I would probably go into something like electrician trade school.. electricians and other kinds of technical labor like that are not getting automated anytime soon
I mean, depends on the career path you wanna do if you wanna do something like a trade then trade schools great if you wanna do like sales or retail no you don’t need it for your degree. If you wanna do some more professional lawyer marketing healthcare field business then you’re gonna have to go to college and it’s gonna be expensive. We’ve all been there.
Go for the cheaper option, nobody really cares what school you went to for whatever degree, they just care that you have the degree.
From my experience as long as the program has the proper accreditation it won't matter, not sure if that changes for law/finance though.
Does your state allow you to go to a community College for free? I would do that. Then go get your BS/BA degree. Just make sure that the university that you get your associates degree from will transfer those credits at the university.
