Going on my first international trip for work. Damn. These are where the points are really at... 30k EQM and ~66 k of miles.... not to mention hotel and Amex points. Getting to see awesome new places and work in challenging problems - I want more of these trips!!!

New to the job/ flying question-- I was silver on DL at beginning of year and just completed 30 segments/ MQD requirement and all of the sudden my "2018 status" went from member to gold and my CONT

I booked what would have been a $1150 flight to Japan on United using 70k miles. Honestly curious if this was a bad move - have never redeemed United miles before and want to know for the future :)

True benefits of United gold? To me it really doesn't seem that much of a jump from silver.

How to transfer all my MileagePlus points to SPG or Amex?

For any AA platinum members - is it worth it? Flying from DCA to ORD. Thinking about the status challenge but $500 for plat challenge + plat now is steep. Sick of united silver.

So if I call the United 1K desk and ask them to drag my ex(es) off all United flights in future, think they'd help me out?

Those of you who have status on United should ask other airlines that fly your usual route for a status match or something. I'm sure they'd love to lap the business up in the wake of this fiasco

Dumb question: Why would we get a travel credit card (CSR, AAdvantage, etc.) when we have to book travel thru our corporate card, so we aren't even going to reap the benefits of traveling every week?
