SWA is the only one with good service
IAH is a United Hub.... meaningful Delta service generally means connecting through ATL. I wouldn't. I'd double down on UA and seek GS.
Dont know about the hub but service in Delta is way better. I feel like I am treated like a human again. This started even before I got status and is even better now with status. I used to be AA then United. Left United because I felt the staff had a bad attitude
Try Delta once or twice and see how it feels
True that IAH is not a Delta hub, and they have fewer options than United and AA, but Delta service is much better! Plus, it's easier to get upgraded in non-hub locations.
A1, I know IAH is a hub for UA. I don't mind the connections through ATL, particularly because I have had to connect through ORD to my destination for the last three years. It's almost impossible to make GS flying domestic. Ive come in at around 140 PQS/120k PQM/30k PQD the last 3 years and haven't made GS.
SM1, the thought of not being able to choose my seat at booking scares me. Also, I live in the Kingwood area, so the hike to Hobby makes SWA a nonviable option.
I'm based in Spring, made GS on Domestic last year.
A1, on how many segments? Did you book full fare first class tickets primarily?
Oh a LOT of segments, I fly 3-4 times a week, sometimes with fairly exotic routing (like the time I went in and out of Canada but started and ended in USA), and I need to fly to fit with meetings vs most economic sometimes.
I'm torn. Ugh.
I have a reservation next week for Delta. Was just trying to figure out if it's worth starting a status challenge and sticking to it, so at least next week's travel counts. I think my biggest fear is I'll be going from United 1K to Delta Platinum, since they're refusing to match me to Diamond.
True, K1. I have a colleague who flies Delta on same route. He gets upgraded 99% of the time, and he's just Platinum. On United, my chances of an upgrade on Mondays/Thursdays are <20%, even as a 1K.
