You don't have enough direct options flying out of a Delta hub?
Maybe he's going to Chicago or another AA/UA hub? I personally liked AA at LAX. Hated UA.
Chicago bingo
Blows my mind delta doesn't have lax to Chicago direct
Yeah I had to connect through DTW. Beautiful airport and all. My main project is in DTW so I fly Delta. Eventually, you're going to change projects and the and question comes up. Depends what region is really big for your client base. From LA, most west coast cities are covered by DL. I'm in Tech so that makes sense. I was with AA for a while but swapped for this 10 month engagement to DL after two months of connecting travel. Eventually, you are going to have to connect once in a while unless you give up on status. That being said I think Delta is the best, but YMMV
AA has the most number of nonstop flights out of LAX, followed by DL and then UA.
That said, no airline completely dominates LA, so depending on where you're going, different airlines are better. As an example, if you were going to ATL, MSP, SEA or DTW, DL wins. For DFW, MIA, ORD, PHX, CLT, NYC, PHL AA is good. Actually for NYC all three of the majors are fine.
Point is no airline completely dominates LAX, so at some point you'll be stuck with a less than ideal schedule if you stuck to one airline
