So I was laid off. Is it okay to talk about it at my next job interview? Feels like everyone knows anyway.
Anyone else in FTO? I have yet to hear of any layoffs despite the fact that we are in FS. Can anyone elaborate?

Those of you who have been fired in the past, what was the reason and was it a blessing I disguise?
How to spin a layoff? All at level or partially at next level snapshots. 70% of snapshots had performance differentiators. Group had a $9M plan but only hit $1.8M this FY. Want to stay in consulting.
Few years back, I heard from the inside Ogilvy Chicago and VSA formed an anti-poaching agreement to not hire each other's talent. I said nothing, taking no chance getting my source fired. Illegal?
Heard GT NYC doing layoffs soon? Any truth?
How is the business going for all you consultants? Are your companies getting new projects? Any layoffs ?
When does the 60 day grace period start - after lay off announcement or after last severance paycheck? Thanks
Not sure if if this would be helpful to those furloughed, laid off due to C19, but here is an open source document of agencies currently interviewing. Please edit, add as needed.https://docs.
First year associate here - really freaked out by FS layoffs and think I might be next. How am I supposed to find another job after 6 months?
Are the layoffs finished? Or are they still going on? I am trying to figure out if I in the green for now.
Are there any agencies that have not gone through any layoffs, furloughs or pay cuts, hiring freezes etc? Shops that are, so far still financially functioning as normal? I know squarespace is one.
is there anything you can do to a previous supervisor who screwed you over due to discrimination ? Reported her to HR but not enough to get her fired.
Have seen a lot of referral threads on here. Since most of us have at-will employment couldn't we be fired if our firms found us soliciting other firms? I know it's unlikely but still seems to be a
I fired my largest client today. 🙀 Sometimes it just isn't a good fit. It has to be a fit for not only my client but also for my agency. We're selective about the work we take on because relationships do matter, and strong relationships = better results. Today was liberating. What a breath of fresh air. We are accepting new clients for everything marketing related including graphic design, website design and development, SEO, digital campaigns, product photography, and video production.
Sorry if this isn’t the right bowl! I was fired from my last job due to performance issues. I filed for unemployment and was approved, however my former employer filed an appeal. I’m not even sure what they’re protesting but it’s making me really nervous. What should I do now?
I have 6+ years of work experience working as an Ops Manager in a 3pl company doing last mile deliveries. Highest level of education is MS Supply chain management from UMD. I have been thinking about making a career switch and go into consulting. What are my chances of getting calls from MBB? Or big 4? Or are there any other firms who focus mainly on Supply chain and logistics consulting? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company Deloitte EY PwC Kearney
Other managers- how many clients are you on right now? Are you doing everything from senior consultant tasks (execution, documenting materials, leading meetings) to manager tasks (review, rework, billing, budgeting, client decks) across all of them? I feel like I’m being taken advantage of because they expect me to cover for everything but I don’t know what other managers are doing. So not sure if this is the norm (I’m a new manager). What’s manager life at other firms?
Which would you choose: large global ad agency known for strategy, decent clients & potentially back in office EOY or smaller independent shop based out of London, not well known in the US, also good clients & more “purpose driven” work, fully remote. Similar salaries for both
Transitioning out of Recruiting - how can I figure out my next step? I think I could be interested in HR Generalist work, HRIS/People Ops, or a DEI role. Aside from talking to people in these roles, how could I get a taste of each to see what would be the most enjoyable?
I have two offers that I like. Taking into account culture, compensation, growth, etc, both have their strengths. Would like to see what metrics/comparisons other 🐠 have used to decide
After 2 weeks of PTO, I don't feel rested at all. In fact it made me realize how much I look forward to being retired..

Hey TSE fam, just successfully completed the sign to close phase of an acquisition. Great relationship built with senior manager as well as client. Client said he is now considering requesting me for the rest of the year for the post close integration. What are the pros and cons of staying? Will it be a positive or negative for when I’m up for promotion to manager next year? Thanks for your advice!
Thinking about an MBA but failed accounting in undergrad... Basically, I got a D in my accounting class but ended up with a decent GPA (3.67). If I wanted to get my MBA (I’ve only casually thought about it) should I retake accounting? Would the grade severely hurt my chances? Any thoughts are appreciated :)
@ Current accounting professionals in the Big 4, do you regret going the accounting route? If so, what do you wish you would have done differently? I did my tax internship at a Big 4 recently but I realized I’m not really passionate about the work. But people have told me to stick with it because the experience you get translates well to other areas of business. So the decision I have to make now is either pivot to finance/something else or stick with Tax and regret it for the next X years.
