So what happens if you don’t meet your minimum billable expectation? Not for lack of trying, but.... asking for a friend 😅

How do you push back on work as the only junior on a lean team? I’m swamped right now but feel like I can’t say no to assignments because the work is “unsuitable” for the senior associate/partner.

Did the payroll tax laws change based on all the people working remotely?
Example: Does payroll have to account for different work locations when there is a hybrid work and the person works in a different state from their home location(where they will be remote) and tax the employees for both locations?
I will be starting a new position in Jan as a HRBP for Amazon. Anyone who held the same or similar role can offer tips that would be appreciated! (This will be my first HR position)
How to explain your hours to people? I've noticed friends can get upset/judgy when I can only do late nights/my family feels offended when I have to do some work during visits. "It's just a job" 🤦
Did you start to enjoy practicing law after you had a few years of experience under your belt? I’m a second year in IP litigation and I hate how stressful everyday feels. It’s not as fulfilling as I expected it to be so far. I keep trying to convince myself I’ll enjoy it more once I feel somewhat competent.
I have a few friends that are doing two full time outside sales roles at once (in different industries.) Anybody else doing this? Is it manageable?
Hi all, any telecom fish in the bowl? I recruit account executives for Comcast Business in California (SF Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno). Message me if you're interested! Happy to connect you with recruiters for other areas in the western U.S. too.
Work BURNOUT… LET’S TALK ABOUT IT. So a little back story. I am 38 a full full time single mom. I work about 60 hours per week. I do not get child support. My employer currently expects me to bring in 15 new customers & 100 existing every month… minimum. I have realized with my upcoming paid time off that I am burnt out. I recently have had no motivation to produce because I so desperately need a break. I sell internet and am the 2nd top producing rep in the region. Opinions to get my mojo back.
Been in biz dev/inside sales for ~3 years. Looking to make a career change to less customer facing roles. Seems like I’m not qualified for anything else. Any recommendations on other career routes?
Greetings from Down Under everyone
I’m a Night Manager at a Hotel and want to get into Sales.
Most of the sales jobs that I’ve come across till now are looking for someone with sales experience. Any tips on how to make my application stand out or how to approach for a sales role?
How do you know when it’s time to leave? I’m a 4th year and I had very little work this year so far (obviously in part due to covid) and I feel that I’m doing a ton of non billables. I’m also a POC so feel that I shoulder a lot of the “diversity” extra curriculars my white colleagues don’t have. I’ve gotten great reviews but the partners I tend to work for aren’t the rainmakers. My hesitation is that there’s good work life balance here and I’m well liked..
I’m studying for the SHRM-CP with the Mometrix (study guides, online course, and flash cards), however I’m super overwhelmed with all of the information. What are some best practices to ensure I grasp all of the concept ? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
Why are Harvard and Yale so overrepresented in NYC big law partnership? I guess Columbia as well
When you’re interviewing for a new job, how do you balance sharing your professional experience against the sensitivity of items that HR handles? If the interviewer didn’t know my current company it would feel different, but since they do know I’m concerned about “over sharing” - ex. saying attrition is a problem at anonymous company and this is how we’re addressing it feels different than saying attrition is a problem at X company. Does that make sense? Am I over thinking this?
Should the work environment be a big contributor to your decisions when you pick a firm? Can anyone share their work environments EX?
Great reminder for BCW leadership. Don’t wait for employees to get an offer to show them they matter. 💯
How much does a PRODUCT owner makes in bay area / San Diego California in a medical device company? I got hired as a business analyst but now doing full product owner role, I actually like it and fixing my resume for any internal move or external.

I'm in an interracial relationship and I can feel people's eyes burning a hole in my back whenever I'm out with my SO. Is interracial dating looked down on in Seattle?
Companies which are still sponsoring H1B transfers? Most of the calls which I had with recruiting HRs were negative for H1Bs.
Toxicity in accounting is real. I used to be in the accounting subreddit and Fishbowl on a daily basis, but my mental state took a huge negative turn. After I took a break for a couple months, I acclimated and became happy again and realized how much my perspective was based on the opinions of others and not my own. Has anyone else experienced this effect? Why do we hate on our profession so much? I love accounting. It took space to rediscover that my negativity was artificial.
Does anyone know of any pro bono opportunities for lawyers not working at firms? I used to work in litigation, and love my new job at a legal tech company, but my work now consists of researching and creating CLEs. I’d like to use my license to help people when I can, I just don’t know what my options are. Actionable ideas would be helpful!
Trying to figure what TC includes at FAANG companies. When they say 150k base, 30k bonus and 100k RSUS... is your TC 280k? Or is the RSU over a 4 yr period? So, only base + bonus + quarter the RSU is the yearly TC??

What are some good remote work from home jobs that are part time. I am currently doing a ride share but the wear and tear on my car is getting to me financially and mentally. I trying to find something legit that I can do from home weekends and evenings. Thank you in advance.
Just started a new project with a bank client. Got my client laptop. Opened the web tool they use to change your password across all systems. The https site, wait for it, did not have a SSL cert installed. I get that it's an internal site that requires VPN connectivity, but no cert? Not even a self-signed cert? Really?

Asking because my h1b status changes Oct-1 but want to get into the August enrollment period. Been with the firm 2+ years now.
