Anyone have people who work for clients who are either young or inexperienced and treat you as outside counsel like you’re their bitch...except 90% of the time they have no clue what they are doing?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I want to be able to access templates, practice guides, and checklists.
So. Many. Recruiters. Calling all the associates at my midsized firm. I wish there was a tactful way to tell our firm this — they need to step up salaries generally because this is gonna be like shooting fish in a barrel for the big firms.

I’m a Canadian lawyer at an Aml50 firm in the US on a TN visa. I would like to take steps to change over to an immigrant visa (H1-B). Has anyone done this? If so, how did you bring up the conversation? How long were you employed before asking for this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi folks! I need some advice with regards to my career path. I did my MBA in finance in 2020. I had my career path figured out but due to the pandemic I couldn't start my job in the finance role that I was placed in. From January I have been working as a research analyst in a research company. What are the possible options for me going forward. Are there any courses for strategic consultancy which I could pursue to enhance my CV and have a successful career in this field? Need some guidance.
I have some marketing workflow development experience using some other tool. Later on worked in another unrelated technical role. Is it good idea to go for SF Marketing Cloud certification? Not familiar with main Salesforce platform, no Salesforce certifications yet.
Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?

I was a campus hire, coming up on one year at the firm. We got pay cuts before starting due to covid. I know everyone here is saying keep low expectations for raises, but what would you say is too low that would push you over the edge? Due to staff leaving, there’s some projects where I’ve already been the only associate with either a manager or experienced manager so I’m basically acting senior, and that will continue into my A2 year. Right now is the perfect time to jump jobs since everyone
