Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

Is it pronounced gif or gif?
It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

PM1 I disagree. SAP is particularly brutal. Most SAP leaders I have worked with had no soft skills whatsoever. Imo, SAP programs are usually long, poorly managed, and freaking boring. I have had a couple junior folks transferring out of SAP and they are very happy where they are now.
Yes Im at D. Feel free to DM
I mean if you can get MBB/T2 it might be worth it, but Deloitte has a LOT of offerings. If you're still trying to figure out what work you want to do it's probably easier to experiment at D.
Hard to say without knowing more. I wouldn't count on it just because it's difficult and uncertain.
It's not hard to apply, so go ahead. But don't sit around waiting for it

Changing roles would only restart the problem. You'll be back to step 0 and feel just as lost in the next thing.

Focus on getting the help and mentorship you need to understand what skill sets would help you grow. Then grind until you learn those.
Switch to a different type only if you hate what you do currently, not because you don't understand. It's hard to like something you aren't good at, so learn a bit first to determine if it's the right fit or not.
Where’s your coach through all of this?
A few other things to try
Talk to your coach but if you don’t connect with your coach or he’s not supportive, switch your coach in TOD.
As D2 mentioned, since the bench is thin, everyone needs help. Try reaching out to your RM and mention you’d like to try a project in another offering.
If you still don’t have any luck, set up time with your manager on the project and let them know you need more explanations when they give you deliverables.
Serious question, how do you even keep your job for 2 years if you really have no clue? Either you're contributing something valuable or I'm extremely curious why they're keeping you around.
It quite literally can at the BTA level. That frees up time for you C, SC, M to do more impactful things. Just focus on doing the best job at those tasks that you can. Take extra time to sit down with each person you are getting status from and understand pain points and delay justifications, not just copy pasting what reasoning they gave you. Memorize the scope and be able to call out to your M areas that are falling behind or need additional support. Be eyes and ears on the ground and let your M know if any politics they'll need to manuver around so they can go to meetings prepared.
There is always a way to add value. No job is too little or insignificant. Change the mindset OP.
