Please describe your home work situation, ie why you think you were qualified for this deduction previously
Simple answer: you probably don’t qualify for it in a tax audit-defensible way if you work for a consulting firm.
First link when googling “2018 home office deduction”

Thanks @A1... my home office deduction is gone! Darn. That was $4k post-tax for me.
Thanks @PwC1 — please elaborate as I’d love to understand.
@KPMG1 - previously owned my own company, and home office was a business expense. Since transitioning to a large consulting firm, I’ve lived >1000 from firm office so rely on home office to perform client and firm work.
I notice it’s still available for self-employed — if I set up a side business and have a dedicated home office for that side business alone, would the deduction still be available?
@DD1 - I saw that too!! Think the answer is YES. Would love someone else to explain. I already have a business on the side, but honestly use my office for this consulting gig... living room for personal business!
