I have interview scheduled and completed from Commonwealth Bank Bangalore location. All technical rounds cleared.
When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..

I have a couple of questions for ZS fishes-
1. Is it possible to turn down a promotion at ZS? I'm currently happy with my responsibilities as a Decision Analytics Consultant and don't want any added responsibilities in the near future (next 5 years)
2. Is it possible to shape up a career path in the BC stream which doesn't involve business development? I don't want to get into working on SOWs and RFPs.
Any travel recommendations in December?
I want to join TCs can anyone refer me

I was an Army officer for 6 yeah, been in B4 for four and my personal feeling is this is a great step and experience you wouldn’t regret, but you have to know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. More than happy to connect and give thoughts about what that side looks like if you want to PM me.
Thanks. This is exactly what I’m looking for. Will do!

Awesome didn’t know we had a vet bowl. Thanks!!
Kind of a random thought but have you thought about becoming a volunteer firefighter/EMT/auxiliary police . I know it’s slightly different but may still be fulfilling. - I almost applied for USCG OCS but put my application on hold
I had a passing thought on volunteer firefighter but haven’t looked too much into it. I feel like being in the army though there’s a feeling of giving back to your country as opposed to the roles you listed where you’re giving back to your local community. And for me I want to serve my nation as a whole more than anything (if that doesn’t sound cringy enough already)

So what exactly are you looking to do? Reserves is all non combat arms, from what I remember, so more admin/supply type work. If you want to do the more intense stuff (Infantry, Artillery, Armor), the NG may be a better option. That said, as a former Artillery officer, while combat deployments were fulfilling, the rest was the same old, same old. Lots of paper work, countless mandatory admin trainings, etc. as NG/Reserves, you’ll give up a weekend a month, which is kind of a lot when you think of it, not to mention your monthly training, potential worthless 9-month deployments to places like Kuwait and Korea. And as an officer, you’ll probably need to work more than just that 1 weekend to keep up with your soldiers’ problems, plan future ops, etc.

Ok gotcha. That all makes sense, and I think your concerns are valid for the most part. 7 months sounds light, but I could be very wrong as I did ROTC and entered about 10 years ago. Because you are doing Reserves, your job is protected while in the LOA, but it definitely could impact promotion timelines.
The military is certainly a good way to give a little back, but you may find that your job satisfaction may not be quite as high as you think it may be. It’s only 4 years, though, so not the end of the world if you do it, and then you wouldn’t have any regrets. Assuming you get the waiver, of course
I went to Navy. Commissioned Marines. Did army schoolhouses.
A few of my coworkers are reservists and every time they go on a drill weekend I am thankful I didn’t sign up for reserves. I need those weekends for mental resets.
Controversial opinion here: but you aren’t going to get the fulfillment you are looking for from reserve military intelligence. Army basic/BOLC is a joke, especially for non-combat jobs. You won’t feel like a warfighter in the army unless you go SF/ranger.
Every Marine gets a taste of being a warfighter during OCS/TBS, and you can always get back to the grunt stuff if you crave it.
Hit me up if you want to talk more.

Shit. I’m sorry to hear that. Also, that’s kind of crazy because I can guarantee you that plenty of my soldiers had ADHD. Are you currently medicated? If not, I’m sure you can get around it if you really want to
I went to Marine Corp OCS after I graduated college because I didn't know what the hell I wanted to do with my life and it sounded like a very challenging thing to do that would be a lot more interesting than some corp job. Maybe not a great reason, but whatever I was 22.
I only lasted about 5 weeks, I made the decision to drop on my own. It was also 2004 and I would surely have ended up in Iraq or Afghanistan. This had no impact on my decision at the time.
The reason I dropped wasn't because it was too hard, but because the Marine Corp is crazy. The classroom sessions were filled with propaganda and were basically a rewrite of history. That didn't sit well with me, I was a history major in college. I also was just exhausted, between all the watches and essays I had to write, it was hard to get more than maybe 5 hours a sleep per night. Some people dealt with it fine, I did not. My body doesn't work on 5 hours a night for weeks on end.
To be perfectly honest, I almost certainly would have been dropped at the first drop date if I hadn't quit first. But, I wasn't waiting around to find out, I knew I was out of there.
Good luck with your decision. It's not something to be taken lightly.
Thanks for sharing. I think for better or worse, we all end up where we need to be. Glad that worked out for you. For me it looks like I have no idea what I want to do or where to go and it’s killing me. The service is now out of the question for me because of medical reasons
I joined the reserves to chase a green beret dream at 26. Happy to talk with you about it.
Wow are we the same person… been thinking about this a lot myself
Wanted to give an update and say that I won’t be able to go through with this plan. I talked to the recruiter and she said the regs won’t allow me to join because of my mental health issues and I won’t be eligible for a waiver. Pretty sad and think it’s total bullshit that the military discriminates against those with mental illness (I understand the whole idea of safety for yourself and others). Thanks everyone for commenting and giving your thoughts.
Like someone else said above, volunteer firefighting/EMS could be a good option. Coast Guard reserves also has a different set of standards and waivers and you can actually make an impact in your community/region.
If you want to make a global impact. Check out the peace corps.
Trust me when I say you aren’t missing out on anything by not seeing the Middle East up close.
Ever considered working at a federal contractor? Some do some pretty damn cool and impactful DoD work that ties in with the military
