D2 is steering you right on the nature of the questions. It's mostly asking about your experience and digging into whether or not you actually have the skills you say you do. Be prepared to speak well about your background and contributions. If you can do that and have done what they're looking for, you should be good for that round. Final round is another story... case interview! The recruiter should help you prep though. The Mid-America one for OT&T you're likely working with is a good one.

like

OP: what did you say about not having a job currently? Did you mention the layoffs?

like

What office, position, and service line

Houston, Consultant, OT&T

Laid off from pwc?!

What's OT&T?

Yeah never heard of OT&T before. Curious as to what group this is

Second round will be more targeted questions on your work and the work that the position will entail. E.g. I'm in technology (consultant) so they asked me to walk through the SDLC. More pointed, day to day type questions

Organization Transformation & Talent

Why did you get laid off OP?

Yea I'm a slacker and 60% utilization but got promoted. What happened to you?

Poor A's forever stuck on the local

Fuck yeah D5

Hi All,
I had my 1st round of interview with Executive Director and 2 leads for Technical role. I have 2 queries-
1. How many rounds should i expect in total considering I clear everything? (I think my first round itself has technical + manger/director)
2. How long (time) will it take to get an offer?
TIA :)

What are your thoughts about putting an explanation for the current gap (as in, I haven’t been working for several months) on your resume, LinkedIn profile or cover letter? If you think it should be included in one of these places, how would you do it?

like

Hi everyone,
Does the gap of one month will affect job opportunities or interview calls for IT jobs especially in current market scene?

Anyone have a go-to resume template? Wondering if a summary section is needed or would having one in LinkedIn suffice.
Thanks!

Friendly tip from a former recruiter & HR PM.

Under no circumstances disclose how much you make or what you want to make.

Tell the recruiter,” I need to interview to learn more about the specific details of this opportunity before I’ll know how much I need to accept a potential offer…”

I discuss & other do’s and dont’s on IG.

I have an informational interview with a Managing Director on Friday about a manager role. I currently serve in a client services role and do not have traditional consulting experience (billable hours, etc.). Additionally, while I’ve worked with McKinsey, Accenture, McKesson, and other teams on major projects, I don’t have experience putting together the strategy, more of a support function. Feeling a tad intimidated! Any tips would be so very appreciated!

Cont. from Previous Post 3 mos 8 rounds: Thank you for your interest in NR. We appreciate the time you took to apply for the CSM position. We were very fortunate to have a strong group of applicants to consider for this role and have recently filled this position. We will hold onto your application, and if a position opens that closely matches your skillset, we may contact you.

Is there an easy/efficient way to figure out how much you've contributed to vs earned in your Roth accounts? I started contributing >20 years ago to my employer's Roth 401k and have rolled it over to a Roth IRA and moved it between multiple custodians, e.g. Fidelity, Vanguard, UBS, Personal Capital, etc. It is unclear to me how much I contributed vs how much I earned by investing it.

The purpose of doing this is I want to use $10K of it, but want to prove that the $10K is from my contribution.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.
