155-160 in LA area is more than doable, but 155-160 in the bay area is going to be rough.
in Dallas. Oracle manager says he can stretch for 155-160k in CAlifornia or give slightly better salary than EY current salary in Dallas
Consider the state tax you would be paying in California vs Dallas. In Dallas with the same salary your take home is approx 8-10 % higher. With slightly higher salary than Dallas salary, Bay Area might not be a good choice financially.
Industry. Major tech firms
Since the manager is ok to give little higher salary than my current salary and allow dallas location is it worth it? My understanding is Oracle won’t have any pay rise in US after joining. How much rise i can expect in EY advisory YOY?
The work in oracle is a routine job when we need to fix bugs to standard product. Only benefit is WLB. More family time and WFH
Honestly the pay jump if you go to SF won’t compensate for the increase in CoL and it sounds like you will make more at EY in the long run despite the lower initial starting salary. Also the work at EY sounds more interesting
