Hmmm. Best way to get a raise right away is really to apply for a new job.

like

This is the only way.

OP is clearly a manager expecting their people to work harder for a promise that the promotion/raise will come at the next review.

No one wants to work.

likefunny

OP I have proof that your theory is not true.

likefunny

Probably a lot easier to apply for high paying role, the things you mention will only take you so far unfortunately. It’s a positive step and it’s great to talk about this.

like

Within the last three points you can promoter and get double your pay.

Nah. Not true at all.

This is SEO not a real post. Who wants to bet that a week from now, after the google and bing crawlers find this and similar posts on social media and other similar forums, that a book or course being sold using this exact language will make it to the first google search page (or likely the second as this is really sloppy SEO).

Any Bridge Engineers/Structural Engineers in here? I got my PE this year and have 5 YOE in TX + an MS. What sort of raise would you expect for receiving your PE working in a consulting firm? I am EOR on a number of structures in development, I manage EITs and Drafters (within projects; I'm not a supervisor), and am doing a lot in general. I'm at 78k currently, which is apparently still in the upper range of EIT salaries per a job posting in CO. I'm thinking of 15% (5% merit, 10% PE). Any ideas?

I could use some advice on this situation. I’ve been working for a small family owned business in Toronto Canada for about 4months. I’ve noticed a lot of unprofessional behaviour since I’ve started (yelling at workers infront of customers) I’ve bounced around different positions so much that the owner blames 98% of stuff on me when something isn’t done, even if it’s not my responsibility anymore.A week ago I asked for an employment contract to get this straight but nothing yet. What do I do?

One of our older employees is constantly failing IT's phishing tests. We've given her several warnings and we're now at a point where she will have to face some type of consequence (up to HR). My thing is, she is older and isn't as tech-savvy. I want to advocate for her to cut her some slack but I also want to be mindful of the fact that she has access to very sensitive information and is constantly on the verge of leaking this information. Any advice on how to navigate?

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience.
