A few deals feels like they’re moving, but nothing is actually closing, and it’s messing with my head more than I want to admit. I’m doing the right things, staying consistent, tightening my notes, and focusing on what I can control, but the uncertainty still sneaks in. The hardest part is not letting a slow week turn into a “maybe I’m not good at this” story in my head. When you hit a slump like that, what’s the one thing you do to reset your confidence without spiraling?

I struggle with this a lot. I try to think back about previous wins and tell myself that the current failures are just as likely to be because of timing, budget, or unserious prospects as it is on me. This time of year, it's a lot easier to deal with because it's pretty much expected that things will slow down with so many people using PTO.

If you feel like you're losing confidence, it can be good to look back on deals you've closed and think about how you did it. You'll probably see that you really do know what you're doing. Sometimes we're just swimming against the tide, and you can't let that erode your confidence. If it's possible, try to score some smalls wins. A win is a win, and even small ones can help keep your head in the game.

Do you understand the customer's paper process for buying? Do you have a champion and financial buyer pushing this deal? Do you solve a tngible business problem? Is this funded? Those are your qualifiers for 'is this a real deal?'

Go networking, meet new people and bring new energy into my work. It may not be the same company but it does help you from feeling stagnant overall.

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager.
