For social workers and psychologists in my district, we handle l of the crisis work in the district (student suicide assessment or behavioral threat assessments/self harm and harm to others) . We drive the direction/district protocol when needed and it often is. The problem is lots of crisis behavior is seen at the end of the day, esp in ms and hs. . The school wants to know, do we put the student on the bus? They call us, and we could be helping out on the bus line somewhere else in the district. Pack everything and go. Wait in line w all the parents at pick up. Since the answer is ‘never’, we’re the lone actors still in the school once we arrive to maybe 6:30 waiting for that parent to get off of work. We might not get out of the school until 8-9 pm. It’s those days when I feel like my loyalty to the district, per the district was unlimited. It wasn’t
