There is literally zero chance your pay gets changed so don’t view this as a way to make an argument. Use it as a way to better understand the process... how raises are decided upon, future bonus potential, etc. That info is valuable and can just be a good convo with a firm leader.
But again, you aren’t getting the decision changed so keep that in mind
If you have strong ratings you are probably paid well. So what would you say in this convo, that you want more? How would you substantiate? I see it as a sure way to loose credibility. Talent and practice leaders know very well where people are on the pay scale so being well paid and asking for comp discussion will likely make them shake head and make you look entitled.
But if you have data points that you are under paid, which is very unlikely since you are new hire, go for it.
Op if you are a campus hire you are more or less being paid the same as the others. Getting data that you are making less than your peers would be difficult in this case
Always take the convo
Thanks SM1!
D2, why always take the convo? If you want face time just set something up, why focus on something as mundane as comp?
OP what are you currently paid? I’m assuming you just got the promo to C.
Yea Op are you concerned your base is lower than your peers at Deloitte?
I’m pretty standard with other analysts - 78.9. I don’t think I’m underpaid, but neither did this SC that I talked to. He just managed to get more money every year.
I’m annoyed that September hires who started 5 months before me are already C’s and getting bonuses, but that’s my only legit complaint.
M1: Why not? What’s the downside? You get a good chance for partner soft networking and get feedback from them about how they view the process and your particular situation. I don’t see much downside.
You should not expect it to result in a raise, however. Which sucks
