Who else likes a good smoke with their pour?

Great way to spend a Friday night!

Old Elk Double Wheat, Woodford Reserve Batch Proof, Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfinished (or Malted Rye), Weller Antique (if you can find it), Bookers, Little Book, maybe Hillrock?
Trying to give some options that are really good, at least $75, and come in a nice bottle/packaging that makes an even nicer gift.
Elijah Craig barrel proof
Bourbon’s price points work a little different than Scotch. Honestly for bourbon $50-70 is the sweet spot for quality and then it’s exclusivity after that driving up the price.
Weller Antique 107 is one of my favorites which will run you close to $150 off the secondary market and msrp is $50 but good luck finding it at that price.
For ones you can find at msrp, I’d recommended Old Forester Statesmen for $55 for value or Jefferson Ocean Aged At Sea for $80 if you’re looking for something with more of a story
If you’re buying OWA for 150 I have a couple cases to sell you!
EH Taylor Small Batch
Wild Turkey 101
Agreed
Barrel Seagrass. Kind of “out there” profile, barrel proof, delicious, and not something most people would buy for their regular rotation. Also available online at MSRP so you don’t have to worry about allocations.
Wild Turkey Rare Breed
Angel’s Envy, 4 Roses Small Batch, Bulleit 10 year or barrel proof. If they like Rye, get Angel’s Envy Rye.
2nd the Angels Envy, generally reasonably priced and a great pour, for 150 you could get the bourbon and the rye…big fan of both
Four roses single barrel, woodford double oak, Blantons, angels envy, eagle rare

I am actually quite surprised that a lot of people don’t really know this gem. To win the SF Spirit Competition - Best in Show is extraordinary.
Find a local secondary group and get Henry McKenna 10 for $60, Weller 107 for $100, or Blantons for $110.
W107 is the best of the those 3 but each of them have cachet of hyped but actually pretty good

M1, knows what’s up.
Lagavulin-16👌🏾👌🏾
Weller Antique 107 is hard to beat even with the increased retail price to 55
Thanks everyone for your input! I think the biggest education here for me was pricing difference between scotch and Bourbon and also MSRP vs Retail.
If someone says I want to buy a solid scotch as holiday gift, as a Speyside fan, I’d say buy Macallan 15 for $150, nothing less.
I couldn’t believe how most solid bourbons are in the $50-100 range.
Thanks again for the bourbon education. We have a solid group here.

JD Single Barrel Barrell Strength, Old Forester 1920, Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Still Austin Cask Strength. All these bottles are under $70 and would make a great gift.
Jeffersons ocean, four roses small batch select
Whistle pig 12
I like quite a few well under a hundred, and my snootier father in law is the same.
Basil Hayden, Blue Note Crossroads, Colorado Honey, even Whistle Pig (the 18 yr tastes like used brine 🤮)
Taste is subjective of course but I’m having a very, very hard time believing that these are your best suggestions.
