So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I work for a small engineering consultancy and I've been really struggling with just work, direction and career satisfaction, to the point its effecting my performance
I"ve been in the engineering industry for nearly 4 years and I'm still on a graduate contract, mainly because I've had 4 different engineering jobs in 4 years (2 i was made rendundant) but this is really offputting as everyone i know with a similar experience to me is earning about 20-30% more than i do
