It is:
1. Interesting that the OP is uncertain about the exact number of people that got together as evidenced by the usage of “About 10.” Such uncertainty reveals the overzealous nature to quit prior to having performed a thorough analysis of all potential actions and their resulting consequences, and
2. Also difficult to all simultaneously quit as that would require the respective number of HR personnel and a certain door width to allow for all to simultaneously walk-out.
You will quit without a job? Get real that is very stupid. Make smart choices about your career and not over a few thousand dollars at a low level. I wouldn’t hire you if heard why you left because your a shit stirring trouble maker. Everyone is replaceable especially now that everyone works remotely.
I'd love for you guys to win something out of this. I am rooting for you, but I think your best case is they offer you all like a blanket 3-5% extra bump to calm down. Otherwise I really do think they will probably just roll the dice and let you walk.
They may give you a bump, but I can almost guarantee they will start phasing everyone out.
Chill...from everything we’ve heard comp will be good this year. Did you not just get $800 pretax today?
So.... any updates?
Come on KPMG... let’s hear it! Let me guess, no one had the guts to quit???
Anybody in the firm can be replaced! Stupid idea
It doesn’t matter the group, having 44,000 employees makes it not difficult to move people around if urgent need arises
Yeah. Guaranteed they're working with RM right now to cover when you guys walk out.
So it sounds like you are taking this a little personally. It’s just business. Want to quit? Sure quit, but it sounds like you want to quit to “show them” and I’m not sure that’s the right reason
That’s a lot of seniors compared to staff. Did some staff decide not to join the pact?
If it was a crap year like you said it would be highly unlikely they would compensate you better than par. If that causes you to quit - it might be a win/win.
A lot harder to win a wrongful termination suit if it’s premeditated, that would hurt a lot worse then a bunch of staff/seniors quitting
I’m not sure what group this is, but 9 seniors leaving BTS would be devastating in the short term. We’re already short.
Hey Baker Tilly in Philly is hiring... no I don’t work there.
Big 4 is a giant machine and most of us are cogs. The reality is most people can and will be replaced even if it causes pains on the frontlines
Won’t believe it until you set up a quit day on your calendar and have everyone fill it out the quit docs together.
Don’t forget about your professional relationships you are impacting by doing this. Esp since it’s posted here.
It might work. They might throw you a few extra bucks, is a move like this for a couple thousand dollars really worth it?...more likely it wont work, this is big 4, they will be fine without all of you...they have thousands of staff and seniors worldwide they can fly in.
Depending on their needs they might be happy to lose 10 in the headcount. I've been to meetings where leadership complained people are not quitting fast enough
Senior Manager 3, that would be quite funny indeed.
However, in practice if the firm/company had only one offer to extend, but had found five qualified candidates within the recruiting window, that firm/company would reach out one at a time in descending order starting with the most qualified candidate, effectively employing a Right of First Refusal option with each candidate.
Power to you OP! Please send an update with how it goes. I think many of us are curious if collective bargaining can work in PA
