One of the major challenges I've encountered in starting a union in my workplace is that people who are woke enough to know we need one are also the ones smart enough to jump ship.

When they lay people off, they often keep things quiet because it will "effect morale". But the firing itself is what effects morale. Being secretive about it undermines respect and harms morale more.

The first things you need to organize your workplace are a full staff list and an org chart (title hierarchy). If those don't already exist, you can make them.
