I received an email from the HR at Monitor Deloitte that I've cleared the case round and a back to back discussion with partner and director of the team will be scheduled. Been almost 3 days since this email, haven't received asking for availability from the scheduling team. This for a role with their Lifesciences Strategy practice in the UK. How long do they typically take to schedule the final round of discussions? Do they eliminate candidates in this round?

Listen. You are the captain of your own ship. If you want to leave, that's your choice. Everyone on your team would do the same and not feel bad about it if they wanted to. At the end of the day you need to do the thing that's right for you and you alone. If people ask you why you're leaving, you know the answer. If people get mad, then they don't support you anyways and they're not worth paying attention to.
That being said, the grass always looks greener from the other side.
If you're looking at a bigger place, it's more likely you'll feel like a cog there than at a smaller place. That's not to say it's guarantee though. A good way to gauge in an interview (if you're interviewing with members of their design team present) is just ask other creatives who are there how they feel.
Maybe ask other designers there what their day-to-day is like. Do they feel like they are challenged by their work, or is it just a job to them? Being a cog is fine if you're just looking for a paycheck and are fulfilled outside of work, but ask people at your prospective job if thats the kind of person they are. If they say yes, you might want to look somewhere else.
"Do you work on a lot of different projects, or are ADs usually only working on one account?" Is probably a question I would ask as an Art Director.
If you feel as though your current role isn’t giving you the opportunities to grow your skill set/book or learn or find mentorship, then I think it’s completely appropriate to move on to someplace new. But don’t move just for the sake of moving. It’s worth investing your time someplace that will nurture you over time than completely start over again every year.
But never, NEVER feel guilty for looking out for yourself. Best of luck!
Agree with everything AD1 said. Focus on your needs. As long as you give 2 weeks notice, you won’t be burning any bridges. If they give you grief, then they weren’t supportive of you to begin with. Never feel obligated to stay anywhere, if it doesn’t feel right.
enough or gotten enough out of the experience. Should I be waiting until 2 years or a certain mile marker? I don’t want to burn any relationships but know that I want to be somewhere else eventually (probably sooner than later).
Youve stuck it out a year, and even though youre clearly a nice person (because youre thinking of other people, not just how you wanna “do you”), you still have the instinct to get out of there.
So dont feel bad—if your small team really supports you, they know youd do better somewhere else. Theyll miss you, but theyll be happy for you.
And finally—nobody said it’s gonna happen quick. You could be searching a while, so keep being a nice dude/ette in the meantime. 😃 good luck!
Just go. Best decision I’ve made and realized all the guilt I felt was self-inflicted. You’re doing yourself and the team a favor eventually. Pretty sure they’d prefer someone who is giving them their 100% too!
