I would be looking at contract work. Can you give us more specifics of what kind of work you're specifically looking for?

I would look into local staffing agencies. They will have a better idea of roles that are temp/remote! Best of luck to you.

Hi all! I’ve been in a torturous job hunt for 4 months- does anyone have leads on roles in Customer Success? I’m super open to industry and company size as long as they’re LGBTQ-friendly, and remote.

Any help would be so very appreciated.

I’ve read a lot of big law posts, and if I saw such venom when I went into the practice, I would be very discouraged. My view is there are so many reasons why lawyering is exciting and great, and so many jobs that won’t suck your life from you, that, if you hate the practice, maybe it’s because you work in a horrible environment that values the dollar over problem solving.

Those with Software 'Engineering' degrees in big tech:

Have any companies required you have a P.Eng certification, or would it benefit your compensation in any way?

Can you not work with the 'Software Engineer' title without jumping through jurisdictional 'P Eng' hoops?

I'm finding industry doesn't care vs other disciplines where drawings are signed off, etc.

This Fishbowl category iterally has Engineering in the name, will that be policed also for only those who are certified as engineer?

Still struggling fundamentally with pricing for these alt coins. They have no real value as they don't reflect any claim for cash flows or ownership. So their price is purely a function of supply and demand. While I can logically support a price for bitcoin due to the limited supply, which effectively eliminates the ability to debase it as a store of value, its gold standard/first mover/brand in the crypto space, and its converatbilty to effectively all other crypto tokens/fiat, which supports its demand . Other alt coins have seemingly moved away from limiting the coin supply, which effectively removes the scarcity value off the table, and secondly opens the door to debasement, which will undermine these tokens use as store of value over time. I am interested in other intellectuall thoughts regarding the utility of these tokens and why their use in the future is warranted rather than circumvanted through the use of fiat/Bitcoin? (As side note, I understand the assumption that the ecosystem will become more valuable just not clear why would this warrant a coin price appreciation (specifically if the supply is not limited...you effectively need to assume the demand for a token will outpace the inflation in token supply to support a fundamental support for price increase)

Looking to pivot out of teaching (at the college level) after 15 years. I’m ABD and finishing my dissertation this year but feel vastly under-qualified for positions as they are listed despite being exceptionally talented in many areas. It feels too close to lying to turn, for example, classroom management into “training and management” as advised by friends…
