That’s funny because my brother got 67k as an intern lolol
That’s like starting salary for associates in Advisory
65k is poverty
My salary was the same when I started, but I didn’t know benchmarks to compare. Are you just venting? Which is fine. Or are you trying to find some benchmarks? Given my experience you’re never going to make as much as NYC etc and comparing makes you angry. Or you could take your 2 years of experience and see where else you could paid that much
IA is not consulting; I think you clicked the wrong fishbowl group.
That’s depressing. Good reminder that it’s monday
Are you in a internal audit role or risk assurance?
Yeah it’s shitty but depending on your location Cost of living is significantly lower than where the majority of FB lives
@SM1 Internal Audit. Does this explain it?
EY2 I live in TX. Yes COL is lower here, but I just still can't believe my Comp is this low
IA does explain it as those roles start lower than tech or management consulting
@EY2 venting, looking for benchmarks, re-evaluating my decisions. Working on fixing this misery | @SM1 thanks for your input
@EY2, yes cost of living is a little lower in Texas, but shit ain't free. @OP, that's discouragingly low, no matter where you live (unless that's in your parent's basement). The median home price in my zip code is $350,000. You can't afford to buy a home in Texas on a 65k salary. I'm sorry, @OP :-(
C1- sorry for being the bearer of that news. Do you enjoy internal audit? If so, many industry IA jobs pay well. If you don't, can you pivot into other types of risk and control work? Risk transformation usually pays the highest in the risk realm.
