Curious what others think about this: a friend of mine has a couple of months of leave this fall to study for the CPA exam (they’ll be paid a reduced salary during their leave), but they mentioned they have no intention of studying for the exam, and instead plan to use that time to look for another job. I work in field sales as an IC. My aspirational career path is to end up in people leadership. Recently, an Inside management position opened up that’s been brought to my attention by the hiring director. Question is, is going back Inside the right move to get into started in leadership? Or should I continue down the field path and wait until those field management slots open up?

Currently 1 YOE tech consulting at Deloitte looking to make a hop to more strategy type roles and came across the strategy analyst development program- 1. is this only for fresh undergrads from specific schools or would I be able to apply? 2. What’s the compensation at this level? (worried I might have to take a pay cut). Also would appreciate any remarks regarding the program in general. Thanks!

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.
