You need to upskill. Depending on your savings and financial cushion, you should definitely look for the next position that aligns with your growth goals. In this job market, I wouldn’t take a job for granted. If you can find one quickly that allows you to upskill simultaneously, that would be ideal. Then, make your move within that company or look for another position that utilizes your new skills.
I was let go at the end of January. I immediately started the job search, finished up an app I was building, and then my wife had an idea to start a business.
Hoping I can get a new job soon and we can build some more diversified income for the future.
I took time to reset. At least three weeks.
My layoff was very abrupt and cruel if I dare to say so, if im honest with you, when i went back to searching i cried my eyes out each time that i had to search for something.
I did take time to learn tho, i used my free time for freelancer projects and upskilliing but i really did enjoy the unemployement time.
