After being laid off does the 60 day grace period begin from the day of termination or from the last severance pay date. For context I was told that I would receive 7 weeks of severance. But the date of termination was last week. Unsure how to compute the 60 day grace period.

I came to US on an L1b in 2018 and switched to H1b in 2021 Oct. Current 797/visa expiry is stated as July 2023, by which I would have spent 1.5 years on H1b visa (and 3.5 years on L1b before that).
