What does your contract say re: cancellation? Some have a notice period built in. Others can be cancelled at any time and you don’t have much recourse, unless you tried to negotiate a kill fee.
You could try to tell them, it puts you in a tough spot since you booked that time for them and turned down other jobs - and ask if there’s a different project you could work on for the remaining 3 weeks. If not, you can decide not to work with them or ask to add an early cancellation clause where you’d get paid a percentage of unused days.

Smile, and say please let me know when I can jump in again. Loved working with your team. Then log off and cry. I know it sucks, but then just start reaching out to other agencies. Now is the busy time. You will find something.
Should also say, I just had a twelve week gig turn into a nine week gig. Nothing I could do.
I once had a 10 week turn into a five week. I just sucked it up.
