Talking to recruiters about a CPI role. When you're not traveling, what's the in-office requirement? I live an hour from the Denver office but closer to Denver Airport. Wondering if I will need to move closer

It’s complicated.

There’s a new performance system that weighs your attendance to office as part of your performance criteria.

However, it’s new. So, no one knows how strongly that’s being enforced and how to take into account traveling versus not.

Most people I know go in once a month

My honest option- this is a make or break year for CPI. I have a hard time recommending people to join.

A&M’s EVP is almost exclusively dependent on its compensation structure, which is heavily focused on its bonus structure.

They redesigned that performance / compensation structure last year, and it’s only being implemented for the first time next month.

So, folks will either be happy with the new changes or A&M CPI will see a mass exodus as the job market recovers.

This is specifically true because A&M CPI is not based off of a collections model like PEPI / NACR. So, you see folks getting paid significantly less than peers in other departments for the relatively the same work (folks are often cross staffed into PEPI/NACR projects).

Ask your recruiter. In office requirements vary by group. I haven’t been to my local office in over a year

found a role i’m really interested in and came across a post about it from hiring manager with a “reach out if you’re interested”. I’ve got a few connections to the company - is it better to try to go through someone I’m connected with in a different department and try to get referred, or just jump on the hiring manager’s post and reach out to them cold?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
