Really? You interview for those roles at equivalent of 1.5 years post MBA at BCG
It’s more Manager level to be honest. SM is equivalent to VP or SVP. Director level compensation falls in the same range as what you’d be paid at a Manager level in consulting.

Director happens at the Senior Associate level all the time. All about your background. If you got 3 years work exp, no, you won’t be a director, if you have 10, yes you will. Senior covers a broad spectrum, and many do the work of mgr and Dir all the time. Put your best foot forward dude!
SM
Senior manager (experienced) with a blend of delivery and business skills (ie strategy)
Or a low level partner
28 year olds not getting those interviews except for the 1 percent of the 1 percent
Most of my director friends are are making 275-300k base.
I dont know any mgrs that make that as their base
I guess its hard to generalize Director level as well. Some Director salaries (with bonus) are 20-30% more than SM at ACN
OP if you are an underpaid SM or just made SM yes then that’s the case (mostly) but also agree with you that every company has their own hierarchy and it’s hard to standardize.
Again we are talking about people who are seasoned managers not the fast trackers who make Managers with 4 years in consulting....
Too many generalizations. Some companies make VPs out of people with 2 years experience.
I know a manager who just got an EVP title with Fortune 500 company
