Lol. I heard busy season at KPMG is more chill.
I heard the opposite way. LoL. I guess depends on the engagement, and one person couldn’t represent all.

I have always loved busy season. I feel like it is the time that I learn and grow the most. It is like the playoffs in professional sports. Your performance during this period determines your future.
This basically sums up my feels. Don’t want to stay in public past manager for reasons, but damn, I’ll miss it when I quit.
I think you need psychiatric help
I have a fulfilling life outside of work so can't relate.
I like substantive testing over walkthroughs and control testing, but doesn't mean I like the crazy hours. I like the comradery of busy season, but hate the idea of doing it remotely.
I liked busy season before I got pregnant with kid #1. Granted I was an intern for my first busy season and I'm confident that makes a big difference on enjoyment levels lol
Hopefully you are liking the attention you were craving for with your fake post.
I feel the same way. Personally I would rather have a job where I work busy season for 8 months of the year and then have four months vacation. The idea that leisure is always better than work and a "balanced" life is always better than focusing on a single pursuit does not ring true for everyone at every point in life. Don't let others make you feel like a weirdo because you have a helpful personality trait.
I also hate the transition from busy season to off season. For me, it's harder to focus when I'm not under time pressure, so it can actually be tougher to consistently do 30-35 chargeable than 60-70. One trick I learned is to place calendar invites so that I have a finite amount of time to finish things before I have to discuss them on a call.
When your health takes a dip or if you plan to have children you'll think much, much, differently. A lot of these comments skew young. Very young.

No I understand. Despite the hours, the days fly by and the work is more about execution than trying to figure stuff out. I quit Big 4 and in retrospect, it’s not really normal lol. Take a deep look at why because you probably like it for all the wrong reasons
I agree. I’m a manager and I enjoy busy season. Learn the most, days fly by, feel appreciated and like your work has tangible results. The rest of the year is so boring it kills me. But this really changed for me when I moved towards manager, had more control over my schedule and more visibility of what’s coming down the pike. Helps manage stress and control the flow. Wasn’t fun as a staff!
I love it too
In times of COVID, this makes more sense.
Take more responsibility if you enjoy it so much you selfish piece of work
Yeah this comment doesn't really make sense. OP wasn't ragging on anyone from what I could see
Such narrow minded thinking in this thread! Tho I won’t say I love busy season. I do like parts of it. The ordering food all the time. Being with the team all night. Changing into pajamas or sweat pants. Feeling like your in the trenches. Everyone collectively bonding over working so many hours. Having interns who are excited about their jobs. I wouldn’t hate it nearly as much if my bonus was more than $500 😂😂 we worked 37 days straight all for a $500 bonus. Nice PwC
