If an interviewer asked me I’d lie to them for sure
The question is a trap. They’re using it to assess if you have a fixed vs growth mindset. Are you bad at something and just accept it? Or do you see things about yourself that you want to improve, and then take action to do so?
Good answer would be: I used to really struggle with _____, but it was important to me to overcome so I did _____, _______, and ____. It wasn’t easy but I have really improved.
If they push for something you are currently bad at, you can say something like a specific skill you’re currently building. Or, you can just push back at the question entirely and say “I try not to think of myself as being permanently bad at something. If I don’t like how I do at something I usually try to do something about it.”
I’m bad at identifying my own weaknesses
Talk about an actual deficiency that you are working on. For example, you may lack finance skills so you can spell that out and the plan you’re taking to address it (e.g., online courses, work experiences, etc.).

I’m too hardworking and honest
I don’t know how to say no and sometimes spread myself thin. But definitely describe how you’re working on it and improving.
The question is less about ‘tell me about a weakness’ but more about ‘tell me how you overcame it’. The real intention is to see if you’re a) self aware enough to identify your flaws, and then b) capable enough to actually actively fix it and become a better contributor/employee/manager.
For me, I mentioned delegating responsibility and how often times I’m overwhelmed by the scope of my work. I talked about how I actively started to delegate and build follow up plans/cadences to keep track of the work and trusting my team to execute.
What are examples y’all have actually used?
I assume you meant turning a weakness into a strength, and it’s not BS, it’s the only effective way to answer the question. And it’s how they expect and want you to answer the question

If you do it poorly, I suppose. But saying “I’m not the most patient, I really like to get ahead of [x] so we don’t have [downtome, problems, whatever]” isn’t going to get a knock from me.
If you say “I care too much about my work” or some other stupid shit we are definitely going to make fun of you later
Tell them something not work related. I.e. you are a bad cook 👩🍳
My only “B” in high school was wood shop.
This is not true, but a great answer.
Thanks all. I answered stupidly but I’m learning from all of you for next time
What did you say?
“Speaking concisely.”
Brevity.
I usually point to something that I am currently working on. To show that you are committed to improving. On occasionn i will frame it as lack of confidence which is something eveyone can relate to in some way
Dancing and oil painting. You don’t require either of those for this job, right?
