Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

I tried to experiment with the ‘Designing Your Life’ book which is modeled after a popular Stanford class. It seems like a good guide, but I just have terrible discipline.
Perhaps worth checking out, and curious if anyone here has tried it.
Good stuff - will dust it off!
Reach out to folks here to get some first hand experiences in. I feel these are going to be higher ROI for you than reading a book. You can always complement your conversations with books as a follow up.
I think you got part of the idea. Try asking yourself other questions like what do you not want to do (besides consulting), what have you enjoyed doing, and what kind of bullshit do you want to tolerate (because all jobs have some)
Yup! Book is by the same author
‘What Color is Your Parachute?’ book helped me focus on a late career transition. It really brings in some good exercises to help you uncover interest areas and how to combine those with current skills.
I was in the same boat until recently. I would actually recommend thinking about MBA/school (and hear me out on this). I was at D and was pressured into applying for MBA (thinking I would use it to pivot out). In the end, I didnt get into my top choice and withdrew from everyone else. The thought process of applying and reflecting on my career to date and thinking what I want next really helped! I eventually decided to switch jobs and found a great place in tech
Thanks everyone for your perspectives! This is definitely helping my career reflection. Any thoughts on the book “Strategize to Win” by Carla Harris? A manager from Deloitte recommended that one to me as a potential starting point as well.
