Any current law clerks received a post-clerkship offer from Quinn this past month and half? It’s been over a month and have since I submitted my application and I’m trying to determine whether I will even hear back from them.

The LA office just had their clerkship reception, so it’s very possible that they’re just starting the hiring process.

I did. Submitted in December, interviewed Jan, offer Feb. I got the sense there is not really any structure within and across offices about this stuff, especially regarding internal timelines etc. (This probably generalizes well to the rest of Quinn.)

Try to see if your target office is making moves, that will be at least slightly informative for you. Also, if anyone on the inside can give your application a nudge that will also get things moving.

Anyone who can help me with a referral for data science/ML engineer roles? Current CTC is 13L.

Anyone familiar with how many apps these judges normally get or what makes candidates stand out? Are these judges generally not interested in someone who has practiced in a different market?

Still WFH? What are other chambers doing for task management? Our chambers has been keeping up with assignments, incoming emails needing judge’s eyes, and written orders, all through Microsoft Planner. We share PDFs through Sharepoint folders. Although we still email draft orders back and forth, the system seems to work well enough. We still aren’t operating at our previous capacity because it takes 10x the number of steps to get a motion heard or an order entered—90% of our workload.

Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?
