Shop around and do your homework! Know your state’s laws requiring inclusion and discrimination. There are laws to protect children with special needs and that require child care centers to comply. If your child is young ( under 3 years old) make sure you are accessing early intervention resources. If your child is 3-5, get in touch with your school district, who may provide services depending on the child’s needs and qualifying disability. Also talk to your child’s pediatrician and/ or developmental specialist for resources. Good luck! It is tough but there is help available!
This subject just came up at school in GA. The AP has a special needs child and another parent asked about childcare, to which there are none around, nor are there any preschools for these children. That may be a lucrative opportunity to start something in your community with other special Ed teachers to provide both services together. I would think Medicaid would pay for it as well!

Nothing concrete and without knowing your location it is tough to say. Like others have said, do your homework and specifically make sure to vet the people you are trusting your child with. Special needs children are particularly vulnerable and it doesn't hurt to be extra cautious with their care.
Check out neighborhood districts. Our district services all special needs kids from Early On through age 26. Yes, we have a sped preschool/not daycare, but it starts at age 3.
