Any downside to buying a repo’d car? There’s this dealer (from a pretty big local dealership franchise) that’s got a number of used cars on the lot priced thousands below market, and when I looked at the CarFax those cars all had history of being repo’d and then sold at auctions. The conditions of these cars look very good in photos, and they are only 1-2 years old. Is there anything I need to ask/check specifically for this type of cars? Thanks!

Yeah idk man, I get that sometimes things happen and finances change quickly and things are sometimes out of someone's control, but I can't imagine someone who's actually had their car repo'd took a whole lot of care for the car. It's cheap to get a detail on a car good enough for pictures, but who knows what kind of wear and abuse it went through

like

When I was in college and worked at Millers Ale House, GMs and above all got company provided Lexus’s. When my boss was fired, they had to repo his RX350 and they said he never once changed the oil which of course would have been complimentary. How sad, he couldn’t even do it and it was FREE. People really don’t take care of cars 😂

Make sure it’s not a branded title.

Also, repo cars sometimes have additional keys floating around out there. It’s rare but I’ve heard of people getting their car “stolen” by a former owner.

If the prices are really good, the titles are clean, if you have a reliable mechanic that you trust if you can take them along with you to check them out that would be sweet!

like

The title will probably be rebuilt or salvage if sold at auction

Both cost around the same - Lexus is more reliable and likely holds its value better but the Yukon is bigger and likely even safer.

Looking to purchase a 2019 Genesis G70 for 35k. Applied for Auto finance and got it approved from DCU at 4.5%.

Any suggestions where I could get better rates with a good credit score and history?
