Interviewing with Apple next week for the roles of Global Supply Manager (GSM) and Worldwide Procurement Analyst in Austin. Does anyone have any tips or advice for the interview? What kind of questions do they ask?
Also, what’s the compensation like in Austin specifically? I would think the compensation would be different than Cupertino. Anyone have any offers or salaries for these positions in Austin?
yeah my pain

You can consider a virtual escape room or a collaborative online game that fosters teamwork. We did something similar in my church during covid. Another idea could be a "Secret Santa" gift exchange where each participant receives a surprise virtual gift.
I’ve already done the secret Santa! But I wanted to go one step past that. I like the virtual escape room idea and will look into that
Maybe give everyone an afternoon off to enjoy themselves. Team building is overrated and at this time of year, people would probably appreciate the extra personal time more.
That’s a shame your company is like that
Love this question! One year, we did a flower arranging class and it was so fun - we were like obsessed. Another year we did a scavenger hunt around a small area and each team got a range of prizes from gift cards/books/candles, etc. It was great for bonding and the gifts were nice.
Let's face it, these marketing marvels deserve a good drink after all their hard work. Hire a virtual mixologist to guide them through creating holiday-themed cocktails. Think peppermint martinis, cranberry cosmopolitans, and maybe even a spiked eggnog for the adventurous ones.
It’s not easy. I recently did one with my team where I had them send in a story or tradition about their holiday with a photo. I told the stories and the team guessed which colleague submitted it. Then I showed the photo. It sounds kind of cheesy but it went over really well. In my case it was a team of folks that hadn’t been together as a team long so it helped them connect more on a personal level. We ended with virtual charades with a winter/ holiday theme. That had people laughing! Although it was a global team and I learned quickly not every charade prompt resonated globally!
We have done some really cool virtual team building things like jeopardy for prizes and things of that nature. It was actually a really fun time considering that it was on Zoom. We had really good participation.
