Move client side. I made this transition in the summer and so thankful I did as agency life broke me. It can be quite busy at times but I rarely work past 5.30pm and NOTHING is as busy and chaotic as agencies. I found it quite funny when I started people flapping and getting flustered because it's "busy" but they clearly had never worked for an agency. Because at the end of the day you're not at the beckon call of a client, saying yes to requests even though there is no capacity. One thing I looked for and asked in interviews was about work life balance. How they answer that question was quite key for me. If you've worked across creative teams in agencies look for Marketing or Creative PM roles initially, the transition across will be easier. Hope this helps ☺️
Thank you so much!
Move to the client side. I've found it far superior to work on the agency side.
I felt this so deeply. Oddly enough I’ve heard recruiting or Human Resources is a pretty seamless transition. I do think it’s easier to make the department jump within your agency first. And from there you can leave agency life knowing you already have an in/have that new department experience your belt. I’m interested to know what advice others have. I’m on the same boat
I've thought that too, but recruiters we like the first to go when all the massive layoffs started to happen. It makes me nervous to transition into that
