A lot of my friends (on H1B) have bought houses in suburbs (or away from City) the past year. I really would like to stay near City (NYC). Any of you considered or have bought apartments in City area instead of huge suburb houses? Any pros and cons that you are aware of?

Not sure if this is the right forum but - my H1B extension has been approved (just got to know today) but my driving license will expire soon. Can my license be renewed without the original extension petition? Or do I need to wait for the originals to come in. Trying to understand what do I need to carry to the DMV. Based in CA. Been in consumer insights all my work life (10 years) and considering pivoting to product or product marketing manager roles. Yet I have had some interesting convos for people manager roles in insights recently and wondering if I should maybe refocus my efforts there.
