Any one else having a really hard time communicating with recruiters during the interview process lately? I’m getting ghosted, ignored and/or given misinformation about timelines and next steps. I’ve been on the hiring manager side and know that things change and are equally frustrating but just shocked at how I’m being treated as a candidate for roles I’m being strongly considered for.

The “Tinder effect” has spilled over into recruiting.

How about you apply directly. Talk with the hiring manager. Get last minute (18 mins to be exact) into a call with a colleague to check for culture fit after a week of silence to hear nothing for over a month to then getting contacted again about the same role through a recruiter. Explain what happened and sure, still open to talking, and then getting ghosted once again. Such a fun game of hide and seek.

🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes to the whole process, the in-house recruiter was fine though. I did 6 rounds of interview and the deciding factor was never once mentioned nor discussed. Was weird AF.

True, I was love bombed then ghosted. It’s the new normal.

This happened to me for the first time this year, it was shocking

Yep. For how hot the job market is, you think they’d be a bit hungrier.

No excuse for being ghosted but regarding misinformation around timelines, it might just be the time of year. As a recruiter, I HATE this time of year. Everyone is taking PTO and it slows down the process. People interview and then go on vacation for a week without sharing feedback. 🙄

I was recruited hard for a job (wasn’t necessarily looking), then told there was already a loved candidate so asked to move up my interview, okayyy

Mega fund VP level role with all cash comp (obviously) OR equal comp at pre ipo 100B tech firm, but with still private and desired stock. Mega fund work is more interesting and clear path to D/MD hence comp growth, which I don’t really see at the tech firm. Any thoughts ? I gravitate towards the fund

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power. I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about. However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

On an MBB case R1 interview, interviewer asked if I had info on future communication and I just said "Just finished R1 and R2 is going to come presumably based on R1 interviews", potentially implying that I thought nailed the case. I had not. I knew I'd bombed it. 😅😂🤦‍♂️ I literally found a way to bomb again in the last 30 seconds.

Super unhappy with my current project/firm and looking to pivot quickly. Struck out at an MBB final round last week, had been prepping for a while. What’s the best course of action moving forward? Continue networking, applying, and trying to get referrals? Not sure how much longer I can take it doing current work. For context, went to an Ivy and have 2YOE. Any help’s appreciated.

Does anyone else feel like Olympic campaigns are seriously subpar this year? (One exception being the skateboarding FB ads by Droga). Normally I feel like there are at least several great campaigns you see over and over and this year I literally can’t even bring many to mind. Wondering if the cause has been covid production restrictions, or less money pumped in due to fear of the games being cancelled, or brands feeling like the Olympics shouldn’t have even happened. Thoughts?

Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!
