yea you should leave for healthcare IT if you have the bandwidth to learn.
I recently resigned my pharmacist position - think I may have been I the highest paid and saw the writing on the wall. Wage was stagnant as well. Didn’t want to be laid off after being there 21 years. I totally switched gears and am working as an underpaid therapist - but there is great future earning and flexibility potential. Don’t be afraid to look for new options if you feel stuck.
I was laid off in April after 23 years with my old employer, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was because I was the expensive one on payroll.
im so sorry to hear that. the profession really isnt progressing. The sad reality is that there are so many schools
Depends where you are working I work for GP network and salary is negotiable
What is a GP network?
Not a pharmacist, but am a technician, and as we all know the pay for techs is abysmal and pathetic considering the stress of the job. Have been working inpatient pharmacy with a company that underwent a merge within the last couple of years, and they have made it ridiculously challenging to get a raise, which i find absolutely offensive after just even giving my time and being a first responder in an environment and operating rooms that expose me to COVID-19 through this pandemic. There's more money in automation and IT, which is much less stressful in its own regard.
Yes the salary has decreased in a very bad manner. Retail has no future anymore.
I live and work in the Midwest. During my short 6 year career, I have seen at least a 2% raise per year
what do you do now?
Can pharmacists do travel contracts? I believe that that is the future of healthcare.
Yes they can. I’ve considered it.
