I just saw a ranking of teacher pay factoring in state cost of living, etc and Florida was bottom of the barrel

Attacking handicapped people, I hope you don’t work with the special needs population.
If it turns out true I live about two hours from Florida so you better believe I’d be packing my bags and moving back to my home state!
Don’t worry, with no tenure there, you’ll be laid off in a few years when the state gives away all that money to private Christian schools and the recession hits. Florida is a repressive shit hole for teachers. Banning books, limiting free speech, and on and on.
There’s NOTHING in our media about this, and believe me, we’d be talking about it.

Here's the Tallahasee Democrat link:

...and here's a quote:
"But the state's teachers' union president questioned the $1.25 billion at a press conference later in the day.
"'That is not what is in the budget,' said Florida Education Association President Andrew Spar in a Zoom call. The 2024-25 General Appropriations Act does state an approximate $202 million increase in teacher salaries, on top of $1.05 billion to 'to maintain prior year salary increases provided to classroom teachers and other instructional personnel pursuant to section 1011.62, Florida Statutes.'
"A request for clarification on the salary increase is pending with the governor's press office."
That site is not to be taken seriously. It purports to be a real newspaper, but it's a political advocacy site.
Well, either way, there are about 20 other websites with the same claim.
You say you don’t like his politics but you’re happy with this policy. Reminds me of a Taylor Swift song.
I say that our leaders must be well versed in the kindergarten concept of “playing well with others” because if our leaders don’t have common sense, no other leaders will want to work with us. This is like having that one disruptive and disrespectful student in a class; their only goal appears to be stirring up a stink that will steal their classmates’ time and learning.
I was just as the Florida Admin conference in Orlando and I believe the impact to each teacher will be less than $200.
