So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Yeah... i hear you can get promoted to customer
Doesn't happen often and is most common in IFS.
In client service, mid cycle promotions are generally announced after mid year CRTs (late November or so for most practices as Oct 31 is mid performance year). As noted above, there are very few practices that actually do it. I have less insight into SDCs, but 159 US IFS promotions were just announced yesterday on PwC News. Direct admit partners (e.g., catalyst hires) can come in at any time to any LoS and of course partners coming from an acquisition will happen whenever that closes. The vast majority of client service folks should not expect mid year promotion unless their partners have already agreed that targeting such is a reasonable goal. My Advisory practice has done zero in the last decade.
Never happen
Lol get real
It doesn't happen. We promote once a year. Promotions are announced in June and effective July 1.
A nice thought.
Nope
Hahaha is it already mid year for u guys?? Damn acn is late, we don't even know end of year results yet.
They do mid year promo in assurance/risk assurance. It's a good way to break the bureaucracy and rigidity associated with big firms and to retain good talent
Happened to me while there. Missed it by a whisker during full year
It does happen, but it is quite rare for the vast majority of client service practices. There is simply no reason to do it except in exceptional cases as it is outside of the normal processes. In IFS it is more common as roles and tasks are less tied to the performance year that client service adheres to.
Okay. How many IFS folks are on a client facing FB site? So, let me clarify...it doesn't happen in CLIENT SERVICE unless they are doing off cycle admissions to the partnership after an acquisition.
P7, read my post above. There are a decent amount of people here from TS and risk assurance
Can also happen for SDC
Not gonna happen bruh!
Guys, it depends.
Are you in Advisory? If yes - not gonna happen. If you are in IFS, maybe - they operate a little differently. If you are in Assurance or Tax, I can't help you there - I have no idea how they run their promotion cycles.
Highly unlikely
