Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Why are you working that many hours? You aren’t creating opportunity for others if you are doing double the work
Depending on the OP’s role there may not be opportunity to create opportunities for others. It’s not a simple as “we need someone else to help with this”.
Get your blood moving to reduce your cortisol levels. Even if it’s just a brisk walk, the only bad workout is one you didn’t do.
Be vicious about protecting your time. My team knows that I’m out 6-8pm most nights to be with my kids. Your kids are more important than a job.
Rising Star
Work 40-45 hrs a week. 80+ hours is just a guarantee of burnout and not worth the missed family time. Draw some hard lines, see if you can be successful. If you can’t be, go elsewhere.
Sorry to hear OP. Not sure what your role is but 80-100 hours a week while also trying to be a present parent is pretty impossible. Not a helpful answer I know. I’ve been in a similar situation and what I found hardest was the feeling of disappointing loved ones by not being around for them. I eventually switched paths in the Firm.
What was your solution to this? Any update?
