There are elopement packages that provide longer ceremony options with appetizers, champagne, etc. they are pretty customizable and in California I think most are around 2k and come with an hour photographer, an officiant, etc. If you do it somewhere with a casino or somewhere for everyone to go where you don’t have to cater that can save a ton of money :) good luck and congrats!

Airbnb, local restaurant catering, buy the liquor yourself!

What's the location, OP? How many guests are you expecting? And for how many hours?

I agree with local restaurant catering. That would be the perfect option for your budget. Good luck!

I suggest non-traditional venues. DIY whenever possible. Hope this helps :)

Hmm. Airbnb or private property. An open space would be nice.

A local catering service would be perfect. Where are you located, btw? How about the reception?

Hi there! No need to have a planner or coordinator. Maybe you can ask a friend to help you organize.

A small indoor place is a great option. You should choose the place that has its own chairs and tables. You can DIY the decorations.

Any recommendations for good videographers in NYC/Tri-State? A lot of the affordable ones I find make the cheesiest videos. I’ve certainly found some good ones but very expensive. I know you get what you pay for, but there has to be someone reasonably priced out there that delivers quality work. I am splurging on the photographer so this would just be an extra.

Hi everyone - We are thinking of changing our wedding photographer after unsatisfactory engagement photos and unsatisfactory communication (unresponsive after multiple attempts). We paid a $450 retainer which we know will be not refundable. However, we are not sure about other liability as we read our contract and found these 2 clauses (in comments). Please advise! Definitely not happy with her and would like to switch to another one but also want to make sure we make the right move. Thanks!

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(

Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!
