Start setting non negotiables, raise this with your scrum master (hope that's not you) as they should be moulding the team culture so it works for the squad. Discuss the culture and who has any non-negotiable ie not available for specific personal reasons or something you are not happy doing. Everyone agrees and then you have rules that needs to be respected. We did this and have empowered everyone to decline meetings when we have kids pick up/dog walking/ elderly parent time.
Second thing is speak to your manager about what your responsibilities are list everything you did in the last month or two and how much time you spend for each part of product. Then show how much of your time goes per specific product workstream (marketing, billing, sales) and how much time that is together. Shoe this is how much I can do and this is how much I am doing now. And discuss what can be deprioritised and/or who can help you with. Maybe a BA ? Maybe someone from marketing? maybe engineer lead?
Honestly, when I was doing that, I made it a requirement in my next role that the developers be US-based. It’s not a shorterm fix, I know, but some companies are not built for flexibility, they’re built for productivity. I couldn’t be happier with working 9-4:30 EST, especially because I can be parent-in-chief 4:30-7pm straight and get some real quality time with the rugrat.
Sounds like you may be working both the product manager and product owner roles.
Have you considered speaking with your boss about injecting a product owner roll into the mix so that you are not juggling both?
If that is not feasible and the excellent social contract suggestion either devolves or doesn't help, it may be worth discussing flex hours and task prioritization with your manager. For eg, maybe you get 3-6pm off since you are working both mornings and evenings (think, school pickup, dinner and afternoons with the family) or maybe some number of other things come off your plate
While yes those calls are unreasonable, plenty of dads and husbands are on them because their wives step up to handle the home
As a single woman I’ve found it exhausting to be online past 10pm to speak with Asia team and squeeze in a gym session and cook. I can’t imagine ALSO being primary care of a home and kids
