I have the CMA designation which I earned a few years back, after about a year and a half to two years of study. I didn’t have an accounting background, and it’s not an easy exam. I didn’t have enough credits to pursue the CPA. Working in public accounting, I strongly agree that in this field, the CMA designation doesn’t carry much weight. It’s a shame, because it really does take a lot of hard work to earn it.
I am currently studying for CMA, plan to take exam in January
Wow! How long ago did you start?
CMA is useless. Get the CPA and then if you feel the need to go further, learn new skills and network. That will serve you much, much better than a CMA.
Ok but why not finish your CPA first
Why not CPA?
Curious too
CMA gives me chills! CPA was enough for me. Don’t like managerial accounting
